Simpson Rock (50˚59'00" 127˚31'00" Part of the Southgate Group, N of the Walker group, NW side of Queen Charlotte Str, N of Port Hardy). Cdr Cortland Herbert Simpson was in charge of the RN survey vessel Egeria on the BC coast, 1900–1903. After leaving BC he was promoted to capt and transferred to the Australia Station, where he commanded the survey ship Penguin. (His father was also an RN officer named Cortland Herbert Simpson.)
