Sine Island


Sine Island (53˚34'00" 129˚58'00" N of Anger I, off W side of Pitt I), Sine Point (NE end of Sine I). These features were named by a coast triangulation party under A E Wright, a surveyor with the BC Lands Service, in 1921. A sine is a mathematical ratio between the sides of a right-angled triangle and is used in surveying to measure gradients and distances.
