Skerry Bay

Skerry Bay (49˚30'00" 124˚14'00" W of Boho I, N side of Lasqueti I, Sabine Channel, Str of Georgia). Skerry is a Scottish Gaelic word for a reef or small rocky island. The term is still used around the Scottish coast and also in Nfld; it comes from the Old Norse sker, meaning a low reef in the sea. BC’s Skerry Bay, a well-established local name, was adopted in 1981.
