Skittagetan Lagoon (52˚33'00" 131˚39'00" NW of Hoskins Point, at N approach to De la Beche Inlet, E side of Moresby I, QCI). Named by the hydrographic service in 1962 for a First Nation language classification that encompassed the dialects of Haida. The word was adapted from Skittagets, a variation of Skidegate (qv), the hereditary name of an important Haida head chief.
