Sobry Island

Sobry Island (50˚01'00" 127˚23'00" N of Kamils I, N side of Kyuquot Sd, NW side of Vancouver I). Named in 1947 after Rev Emile Sobry (1861–1943), a Roman Catholic missionary who was in charge of the mission and day school at Kyuquot, 1897–1911. From 1911 to 1920 he was the teacher and missionary at Yuquot in Nootka Sd. Sobry died at Victoria.
