Stark Point (53˚37'00" 130˚03'00" Near S entrance to Hevenor Inlet, W side of Pitt I). Flight Lt George Douglas Stark, DFC, from Vancouver, was killed in action Aug 2, 1944, aged 21. He was a member of No 425 Squadron, which flew night missions over Germany in 1944 with Handley Page Halifax bombers. Stark had flown more than 30 sorties at the time of his death, including ones against Berlin, Essen, Stuttgart and Frankfurt. He is buried at Stonefall Cemetery in Harrogate, Yorkshire, England....
