Tarr Inlet (59˚04'00" 137˚03'00" NW extension of Reid Inlet and Glacier Bay, NW corner of BC on the BC-Alaska boundary). Named about 1912 by Lawrence Martin, of the US Geological Survey, after Ralph Stockman Tarr (1864–1912), a geographer who taught at Harvard and Cornell universities, 1890–1912, and wrote on glaciology, geology and earthquakes.
