Telegraph Cove (50˚33'00" 126˚50'00" NE side of Beaver Cove, SW entrance to Johnstone Str, E of Port McNeill, NE side of Vancouver I). A lineman’s station was built at the cove in 1912 when the federal government completed a telegraph line between Campbell R and Port Hardy. The spot was named by Albert Wastell, who was managing a sawmill and box factory for the BC Fishing & Packing Co at nearby Alert Bay at the time.
