Thurston Bay


Thurston Bay (50˚22'00" 125˚19'00" W side of Sonora I, Nodales Channel, N of Campbell R). Robert Jabez F Thurston (1867–1929) and Aird Flavelle (1888–1973), both from Ont, established the Thurston-Flavelle Lumber Co about 1912 and constructed a series of sawmills at Port Moody (where Thurston and his wife, Elizabeth Lillian, also built one of the town’s finest homes) and elsewhere in the Lower Mainland.
