Tingley Rock


Tingley Rock (52˚03'00" 128˚29'00" W entrance to Golby Passage, Queens Sd, SW of Bella Bella). Formerly known as Middle Rk but renamed by the hydrographic service in 1944 after Lt Cdr Harold Reed Tingley (1894–1964), a native of NS. He became a cadet in 1911, then served with the RN during WWI aboard HMS Melampus, a destroyer. In 1925 he married Lillian Gertrude Ambridge (1894–1977), from Ottawa.
