Tuga Point


Tuga Point (52˚09'00" 131˚14'00" W side of Louscoone Inlet, S end of Moresby I, QCI). The point was named by the hydrographic service in 1962 after the Haida First Nation village of Chuga (or Tc’uga), which was located across the peninsula on the W side of Moresby I, just S of Cape Freeman. The name can apparently be translated as “to go for cedar planks.” D
