Venn Passage


Venn Passage (54˚20'00" 130˚26'00" Connects Metlakatla Bay and Prince Rupert Hbr, just W of Prince Rupert). Named by Anglican missionary William Duncan after Rev Henry Venn (1796–1873), secretary and guiding light of the Anglican Church Mission Society, 1841–73. The society was founded in 1799 by members of the Clapham Sect, an activist, evangelical offshoot of the Church of England.
