Virgin Rocks

Virgin Rocks (51˚16'00" 128˚12'00" SW end of the Sea Otter Group, Queen Charlotte Sd). These dangers to navigation were named by early fur trader James Hanna of the Sea Otter in 1786, on his second voyage to the PNW. They are thus one of the earliest European place names to have survived on the BC coast. Capt George Vancouver corrected the chart position of the hazardous rocks in 1792.
