Von Donop Inlet (50˚11'00" 124˚58'49" Drains NW into Sutil Channel, NW end of Cortes I, NE of Campbell R). Victor Edward John Brenton von Donop served as a midshipman aboard HMS Charybdis, under Capt George Keane. The vessel arrived at Esquimalt in 1862 in the wake of the Trent Affair, in which two Confederate diplomats were removed by force from the British mail packet Trent by a Union warship capt during the US Civil War.
