Voss Point


Voss Point (48˚50'00" 125˚12'00" S end of Diana I, W side of Trevor Channel, Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Victoria resident John Claus Voss (c 1851–1922) made a famous voyage in 1901–4 in a remodelled, sail-equipped, 10-m dugout canoe, the Tilikum. He was accompanied partway across the Pacific by Norman Luxton, a journalist, who left the expedition at Fiji and was replaced by a series of other crewmen, including one who was washed overboard and lost.
