Whiteaves Bay (53˚11'00" 132˚02'00" SW of Alliford Bay, N end of Moresby I, QCI). Joseph Frederick Whiteaves (1835–1909) was an eminent paleontologist and zoologist who immigrated to Canada from England in 1862. From 1863 to 1875 he was curator and secretary of the Natural History Society of Montreal, where he studied marine and freshwater invertebrates as well as the region’s fossils.
