Winstanley Point

Winstanley Point (48˚53'00" 123˚24'00" W side of Galiano I, Gulf Is). Edward George W Winstanley (1856–1926) was born in Australia and came to Canada with his parents in 1859. He settled at first in Manitoba, where he and his Ont-born wife, Janet or “Jennie” (1860–1926), farmed and raised a family. The Winstanleys arrived on Galiano I in 1890 and farmed there also. Edward helped build the first school at the S end of the island. He apparently made several successful prospecting trips...
