Woods Shoal

Woods Shoal (52˚46'00" 129˚27'00" W of Anderson I, off NW Aristazabal I, Hecate Str). Helen Katherine Woods (1853–1937) was born in Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1865. She worked as a teacher at Victoria and married John Alexander Andrew (1839–91) there in 1882. He had been born in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) and was employed as an accountant by the HBC. Helen is believed to have participated in the Victoria old-timers’ reunion of May 1924 (see Adams Bay).
