BC ARTS COUNCIL is an independent agency created by the provincial government in 1996 to administer public support programs for the arts and cultural community. The council consists of a maximum of 15 members appointed by the government. The founding chair of the council was Mavor MOORE (1996–98), followed by Ann MORTIFEE.
