BC HOUSE is the headquarters of BC's government representative in London, England. The province's first representative, Gilbert M. SPROAT, began as an emigration agent and later assumed the title agent general, which has been used ever since. The present BC House, built in 1914, is at 1 Regent St. Since 1872 there have been 23 agents general. Five other provinces have an agent general in London.
