BAMBERTON overlooks the west side of SAANICH INLET 37 km north of VICTORIA, just off the Malahat Hwy (see MALAHAT DRIVE). In 1912 the BC Cement Co opened a cement plant at the site, an expansion of its original plant across at TOD INLET. (BUTCHART GARDENS later developed at the original quarry site.)
