BEAVER (Castor canadensis) is a large brown mammal of the order Rodentia (RODENTS) weighing up to 35 kg and inhabiting forested areas across the province, including VANCOUVER ISLAND and introduced to the QUEEN CHARLOTTE ISLANDS.
