BISHOP, Kenneth James, film producer (b 20 Apr 1893, Surrey, England; d 6 Sept 1941, Vancouver). He had been a small-time film producer in New York and Hollywood when he came to VICTORIA in 1932, determined to create a feature film industry based on Great Britain's quota legislation (see FILMMAKING).
