Oak Bay


OAK BAY, district municipality, pop 17,908 (2006), is a well-to-do residential community occupying the southeast tip of VANCOUVER ISLAND adjacent to VICTORIA, overlooking HARO STRAIT. The first white settler was John TOD, who arrived in 1850 after a career in the FUR TRADE and developed his Willows Farm on the site.
