BLANCHET, Muriel Wylie (Liffiton) "Capi," writer (b 1891, Lachine, QC; d 30 Sept 1961, Sidney). Educated at St. Paul's private school in Montreal, she married Geoffrey Blanchet, a banker, when she was 18 years old. The Blanchets lived in Sherbrooke, QC, and Toronto before Geoffrey became ill and took early retirement. In 1922 the couple and their children moved to Curteis Point, near SIDNEY on VANCOUVER ISLAND, and bought the 7.6-m wooden cruiser Caprice. Blanchet's husband died in 1927,...
