BLAYLOCK, Selwyn Gwillym, metallurgist, COMINCO executive (b 1879, Paspébiac, QC; d 1945). After graduating from McGill Univ in 1899 he came west to the KOOTENAY to work at the TRAIL smelter owned by the CPR. In 1906, when Canadian Pacific created Cominco, he was the new company's chief metallurgist.
