BLENKINSOP, George, HBC trader, Indian agent (b 1822, Penryn, England; d 2 June 1904, Fort Rupert). He joined the HBC in 1840 and served his entire term west of the ROCKY MTS in Alaska, VANCOUVER ISLAND, Oregon and the BC mainland. He helped to build FORT RUPERT on the north end of Vancouver Island near PORT HARDY in 1850 and remained there to the end of 1856.
