BOBCAT (Lynx rufus) is one of 3 wildcats in BC (the others are COUGAR and LYNX). It is a tawny-coloured (greyish or red-brown) animal with some dark spotting, distinguishable from the other cats by its small feet, stubby tail and lack of ear tufts. Bobcats occur on the mainland throughout the southern two-thirds of the province, in a variety of habitats that give good mixed ground cover from valley bottoms to timberline.
