Bold Point

BOLD POINT was a FISHING community and UNION STEAMSHIP CO stop on the east coast of QUADRA ISLAND, 20 km northeast of CAMPBELL RIVER. The famed timber cruiser (see FOREST INDUSTRY) Moses IRELAND established a hotel and ranch here in 1901 and there was also a store and post office (est 1911), but the settlement was abandoned by the 1960s.
