BOYD, Rob, downhill skier (b 15 Feb 1966, Vernon). He grew up in VERNON and WHISTLER and joined the Canadian national ski team in 1985. The following year he won his first World Cup race at Val Gardena, Italy, at 20 the youngest male winner of a World Cup event in more than a decade.
