Bushtit


BUSHTIT (Psaltriparus minimus) is a tiny, nondescript grey bird common in the Georgia Basin region of southwestern BC, where flocks of 30 or more drift through shrubbery in open habitat. They are often found with KINGLETS, WARBLERS, CHICKADEES and red-breasted NUTHATCHES. Bushtits increased in BC during the last century as the lowland FORESTS of the South Coast were cleared, providing more bushtit habitat.
