Charlie Lake Cave


CHARLIE LAKE CAVE is an archaeological site in a rocky outcrop 9 km northwest of FORT ST JOHN, just off the ALASKA HWY. Stone artifacts and animal remains found in 1983 date back 11,500 years, making this the oldest dated human occupation in BC. The earliest occupants were bison hunters. (See also ARCHAEOLOGY.)
