Columbia Mountains


COLUMBIA MOUNTAINS are a complex group of mountains occupying most of southeast BC from the Interior Plateau and the Okanagan Highlands east to the ROCKY MT TRENCH. About 600 km in length, it is composed of 4 separate ranges: the SELKIRKS, PURCELLS, MONASHEES and CARIBOOS. The highest peak in the Columbia Mts is Mt Sir Sandford at 3,530 m.
