Coquitlam Lake


COQUITLAM LAKE, 12.5 sq km, a narrow lake in the COAST MTS east of VANCOUVER, drains via the Coquitlam R to empty into the FRASER R just east of the PORT MANN Bridge. The river's lower reaches form the boundary between COQUITLAM and PORT COQUITLAM. The name is a corruption of Kwikwetl'em, the FIRST NATION that originally occupied the area.
