Coquitlam


 

COQUITLAM  () surrounds PORT COQUITLAM on the north side of the FRASER R east of BURNABY and PORT MOODY. The name derives from a SALISHAN word for "small red salmon." In its early days, Coquitlam was centred on the large SAWMILL at Fraser Mills (see MILLSIDE).
