RIVERVIEW is the site of a hospital, farm and botanical garden in COQUITLAM at the confluence of the Coquitlam and FRASER rivers. As the original Public Hospital for the Insane (later WOODLANDS) became overcrowded, the government purchased land not far away for a new hospital. The land, originally called Colony Farm, was cleared and in 1913 the new psychiatric facility opened.
