BURNABY adjoins the eastern edge of VANCOUVER between BURRARD INLET on the north and the FRASER R to the south. It is the 3rd most populous municipality in BC and in the GREATER VANCOUVER REGIONAL DISTRICT after Vancouver and SURREY. The area was surveyed by the ROYAL ENGINEERS in 1859 and named for Robert BURNABY, who led the survey.
