CREASE, Henry Pering Pellew, jurist (b 20 Aug 1823, Plymouth, England; d 27 Nov 1905, Victoria). After legal training in England, he went to live briefly in Ontario in 1849, then returned to England and managed a tin mine in Cornwall. In 1858 he immigrated to VANCOUVER ISLAND, where he set up as the colony's first qualified lawyer.
