DOMAN INDUSTRIES LTD began in 1955 as a trucking and building supplies retailer in DUNCAN, owned by the Doman family. In 1964 the company began LOGGING and SAWMILLING on southern VANCOUVER ISLAND, and in 1967 it built a sawmill at LADYSMITH. Three more sawmills were built on Vancouver Island during the 1970s.
