FIFE, a small AGRICULTURAL settlement 18 km west of GRAND FORKS near CHRISTINA LK on the COLUMBIA & WESTERN RWY, was formerly known as Sutherland Siding. COMINCO had a quarry here that supplied limestone for its TRAIL smelter. It was named after a local resident.
