FINLAYSON, Roderick, fur trader (b 16 Mar 1818, Loch Alsh, Scotland; d 20 Jan 1892, Victoria). He immigrated to New York as a young man, then joined the HBC as an apprentice clerk. In 1839 he came out to the Columbia District and took part in the effort to penetrate the Alaska FUR TRADE.
