FINMOORE, 56 km west of PRINCE GEORGE on the CNR, is a farming (see AGRICULTURE) settlement beside the NECHAKO R named after P. Moore, early settler and first postmaster. Formerly known as Stuart River, it is just west of where this tributary joins the Nechako at the former site of CHUNLAC, a historic DAKELH (Carrier) village.
