FOSTER, William Wasborough "Billy," public servant, mountaineer (b 1875, Bristol, England; d 2 Dec 1954, Vancouver). He participated in the first ascents of Mt ROBSON, the highest peak in the Canadian ROCKY MTS (1913), and Mt Logan, the highest mountain in Canada (1925), 2 of the greatest achievements in the history of Canadian MOUNTAINEERING.
