Fraser Lake


FRASER LAKE, village, pop 965 (2021), is near the western end of Fraser Lk (54.6 sq km) on the Yellowhead Hwy (see ROADS AND HWYS) about 160 km west of PRINCE GEORGE. A community was established in 1914 with the arrival of the GRAND TRUNK PACIFIC RWY. It grew slowly as a SAWMILLING town until 1965, when a huge MOLYBDENUM mine opened south of ENDAKO and Fraser Lake became home to many mine families. The mine has been closed since 2015.
