GEORGIA STRAIGHT is a news and entertainment weekly, published in VANCOUVER and distributed free through various outlets. It first appeared on 5 May 1967 as a voice of the city's "underground" community (at a cost of 10 cents) and immediately outraged conservative civic leaders with articles about sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll.
