GLENEMMA, 24 km northwest of VERNON in the SALMON R valley, is a N OKANAGAN VALLEY farming (see AGRICULTURE) and ranching (see CATTLE INDUSTRY) settlement. Its name was to have been Kenemma, after the early settlers Ken and Emma Sweet, but it somehow got mangled. A nearby CNR station is called Sweetsbridge. Kenneth Sweet was the first postmaster here in 1895.
