GOLD BAR was a remote settlement of homesteaders, trappers and prospectors 125 km west of FORT ST JOHN where Carbon Crk joined the PEACE R. Jim Beattie established a ranch in the vicinity in 1914. The whole area disappeared beneath the waters of WILLISTON RESERVOIR in 1968.
