GUILLEMOT, PIGEON (Cepphus columba), a member of the family Alcidae, is a PIGEON-sized seabird abundantly present on the rocky shorelines of the coast. It is black with white wing patches, red legs and red mouth lining. In winter its plumage is mottled grey. Like other alcids, it feeds by diving and "flying" underwater in pursuit of fish.
