HAGER, Alvah L., fishing executive (b 19 Nov 1877, Oelwein, IA; d 1948, Vancouver). He entered the fishing business in Boston, then moved to Washington state and opened a processing plant that specialized in COLUMBIA R chinook (see SALMON). In 1908 he moved to VANCOUVER as general manager of local operations for the New England Fish Co, which took over the CANADIAN FISHING CO LTD and built it into one of the major processors on the coast.
