HAIG-BROWN, Roderick Langmere, writer (b 21 Feb 1908, Lancing, England; d 19 Oct 1976, Campbell River). He went to Washington state in 1926 to work as a logger and later transferred to a camp on VANCOUVER ISLAND. Seeking more free time to write, he took up trapping, guiding and beachcombing to make a living and began selling articles to sporting magazines.
